The Borana Brave: A Tale of Resilience and Perseverance

Updated: May 13

Once upon a time, in a faraway land called Ethiopia, there was a tribe of people called the Borana. They were a proud and strong people who lived in harmony with the earth and all its creatures. They had a deep respect for their traditions and culture, and they passed down their stories and knowledge from generation to generation.

One year, the rains did not come as they usually did. The rivers and streams began to dry up, and the grasses and trees began to wither. The Borana people knew that they were facing a drought, and they began to worry about their cattle, which were the source of their livelihood.

One day, a young Borana boy named Ahmed went out to check on the cattle. He saw that they were becoming weak and thin, and he knew that they needed water and food. He went back to his village and told the elders what he had seen.

The Borana elders knew that they had to act quickly to save their cattle and their people. They gathered everyone in the village and talked about what they could do. They decided to send a group of people on a long journey to find water and food for the cattle.

Ahmed was chosen to be one of the people who would go on the journey. He felt proud to be chosen, and he knew that it was an important mission. He packed his bags and set out with the group.

As they traveled, they saw that the land was becoming more and more barren. They walked for many days without finding any water or food. They were becoming tired and thirsty, and they began to worry that they would not be able to save the cattle.

But then, on the fifth day of their journey, they saw a small river in the distance. They ran towards it, and they saw that it was still flowing, despite the drought. They drank from the river and filled their water containers.

They then went on to find food for the cattle. They found a field of grass that had not yet withered, and they collected as much as they could. They also found a few trees that still had leaves, and they gathered the leaves to use as fodder.

As they made their way back to the village with the water and food, they felt proud of what they had accomplished. When they arrived at the village, they were greeted with cheers and applause. The Borana people were grateful for what the group had done, and they knew that they had been saved from the drought.

And so, the Borana people lived on, proud and strong, passing down their stories and traditions from generation to generation. They knew that they could overcome any challenge if they worked together and never gave up hope. Ahmed felt proud to be a part of the Borana tribe, and he knew that he had learned an important lesson about resilience and perseverance.
